The original WinterHits was commissioned by Bob Mauretts as a living room soundtrack for the winter days and nights, at his house in the small village of Chans. He hired producer Fritz von Runte, a minor celebrity at the time. Rumours say they had immediate bonding, as Bob Mauretts entered the studio holding a record called The Supremes A Go-Go - one of von Runte’s personal favorites.

The original piece, WinterHits, has become a cult record all over the world, with russian bootlegs being sold throughout Europe, showing a pretty girl in the heavy snow using nothing but a winter jacket and a cap.
